I’m so glad you have stumbled upon my little corner of the internet. It is an honor to have you here.

In case we are just meeting, I’m Jenni, an Indiana-based documentary photographer, capturing the beauty and authenticity of everyday moments.

I specialize in photography stories that embrace every season of life. I acknowledge the duality inherent in life’s moments and create a safe space where two feelings can co-exist truthfully. Whether you are celebrating a loved one’s life or capturing the journey of raising children, every milestone holds significance, every perfect moment intertwined with imperfection. It’s about capturing the true essence of human connection, emotional depth, and delivering timeless photographs that tell powerful stories.

You might be wondering why documentary and storytelling photography? The simple answer – the gift of what you receive. I love this quote by Joy Prouty,

“When it comes to photography,
the phrase we often use is “to take”
a picture—

but what if, instead of thinking something had to be TAKEN
we could slow down & be present
for what might be GIVEN through the process of image-making?”

When my mom was diagnosed with dementia years ago, I decided to photograph her (really our) journey. I wanted something to hold onto that’d help me remember her for years to come.

Most people think that photography is all about capturing the aesthetically pleasing moments in life. But there’s so much beauty in the real, raw moments. There’s beauty in pain, and my goal as a photographer is to help you find that beauty, even in the hardest of times. 

What is given through documentary and storytelling photography will look different for each individual + family. As grief continues to integrate into my daily life, the images that I documented with my mom provide grace, comfort and love.
